Call for Participants: Study Session 2025 in Budapest

Apply now for the European Y.W.C.A’s study session 2025 “Empowering Change: Advancing Gender Equality and Peacebuilding in Europe,” taking place from May 5th to 9th in Budapest!

The aim of this session is to bring young women together from across Europe to grow as transformative leaders, equipped to tackle challenges in a changing world. Only 35 women can register, and we hope you are one of them! This inspiring, hands-on experience will focus on leadership and peacebuilding, offering a unique opportunity to combat discrimination through an intersectional lens and lead transformative change towards peace. Together, we will develop a collective peacebuilding strategy and create a toolkit based on the participants’ experiences. Expect engaging discussions and the chance to connect with like-minded women!

Our objectives are:

  • Increase awareness of antiracism, discrimination and intersectionality among participants.
  • Strengthen knowledge and skills for peacebuilding and conflict transformation in relation to local contexts.
  • Share experiences and best practices from local YWCAs.
  • Build confidence in taking leadership and advocacy roles to promote inclusive and anti-discriminatory practices.
  • Recognize the importance of well-being in activism as change-makers.

The working language of the session will be English.

The Council of Europe will cover your travel costs, accommodation, and meals. There is an enrollment fee of €50, which will be deducted from your travel expenses. To be eligible for travel reimbursement, you must attend the full session (arrivals on May 4th and departures on May 10th). Accommodation will most likely be in shared rooms.
