European Youth Forum´s General Assembly linked both organizations and young participants
The representative of European YWCA in European Youth Forum Vera Syrokvash attended the European Youth Forum General Assembly, the highest decision-making body of the EYF. in November 22-24 at the European Youth Capital-2019 Novi Sad, Serbia.
At the General Assembly 217 delegates from the national youth councils and international non-governmental youth organizations,including EYWCA, worked together for approximately 30 hours, setting policy guidelines, deciding on membership applications and adopting the governing rules of the organization.
During the GA Vera got familiar with body structure of EYF, voting system and the process of decision-making and EYWCA´s place in it. Vera discussed upon and adopted a motion on combating antisemitism, a resolution for fair remuneration of creators and a free internet,
a resolution on the right to conscientious objection to military service in Europe and much more.
As a part of Value Based Member Organizations in the European Youth Forum group, representative had an opportunity to ask questions directly to board candidates and presidential candidates, to make sure that interests and political agenda of potential president and board members correspond with values shared by EYWCA.
Vera also took part in a workshop organized by European Centre of Studies and Initiatives, dedicated to the problems of sexual education. After the workshop Vera gave a consultation about gender expertise to Nordic Youth Association representative and by this way established
a link between EYWCA and Nordic Youth Association.
